Sightseeing, 2009, Installation, kinetic sculpture, silicone, approx. 15 x 30 cm, monitoring system, projector, electronic air-suction system, Laboratory Künstlerhaus Dortmund, 2009 Looking at the installation Sightseeing viewpoints change and start contradicting themselves: In the back of a room a nondescript, milky-green shape, similar to a hot water bottle, is lying on the ground. The drain at the front of the space acts as the eye of the sculpture. The visual radius of the eye is restricted to the ground. By looking at his own feet in a projection at eye level, the observer realizes this restriction. Moving towards the object the visitor’s feet dangerously approach his own head. Inevitably, he gains a new perspective, in this case an unusual one at floor-level in addition to his normal one.
